Wilky's Worldview
About Wilky's Worldview

For the last semester of high school, I decided to take a break from my usual opinion pieces and instead try something new. This project is called “Wilky’s Worldview” and each issue that is released will represent either an emotion I feel or an experience I go through as I navigate these final months as a Carlmont senior.
Issue one: Delusion

This issue “Delusion” represents the insanity I have been feeling over the past month as anxiety spreads as each day goes on. Sometimes it can feel like I am stuck in a state of delusion.
Issue Two: Mother Nature

This issue “Mother Nature” is supposed to invoke a reminiscent, vintage feeling. As we are getting into the spring season, the colors included in these pictures represent the transition from the cold isolated feeling that winter brings, into the happy and playful emotions that spring invokes.
Issue Three: Glamour

This issue, “Glamour,” is inspired by the women of old Hollywood. I had been watching these movies with my family and I noticed that many characters had this bold red lip. These characters from movies like Stage Door, Kitty Foyle, and of course Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, are strong female leads in a time when women still weren't seen as an equal. These movies and their characters inspired these photos.
Issue Four: Water

This issue, "Water," was inspired by a picture of someone fully clothes swimming in a pool. When I saw that picture, I thought "what would make someone want to do that?" Then while talking to my friend we realized that there are many reasons why we would do that. The first reason, being a more silly one, is simply if it was hot and we didn't have a swimsuit. Then we chose to explore with these pictures because sometimes your mind is so clustered you feel the urge to put your body through some kind of shock. A shock such as jumping into a freezing pool, fully clothed.
